Bắc Hà fair
|
|
Bắc Hà Fair (Lào Cai), held on every Sunday, is the place for commodity exchange and sales of 14 ethnic groups living in Bắc Hà township and surrounding districts and provinces. They bring to the fair all kinds of mountainous produces: Shan tea, fruit, honeybee, wine, brocade clothes, silver jewelry, orchid, saplings or tow horses, oxen, pigs or carry maize and sweet potato bags. Mông girls with their dresses and colorful brocade stalls make the fair a festival day.

Custom of Dao people in the Northern West
|

In Việt Nam, Dao ethnic group has about 450,000 people, ranking 9th among other ethnic groups in the country. Dao people are honest, good-natured, unsophisticated and hospitable. Dao ethnic group has many strange customs. In marriage, for example, men have to stay at their wife's family from two to three years, even in the long time (if they stay forever at their wife's family, they have to change their family name into their wife's family name).

Unique Khleang pagoda - Sóc Trăng
|

Khleang pagoda is one of the antique and famous Khmer pagodas in Sóc Trăng. This pagoda which was located in a large area of 3.825m2, was built in 1533. Pagoda gate was decorated with three small towers having designs, vignettes, bright colors in the manner of Khmer people. Khleang pagoda has been recognized as national cultural historical relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and it is an attractive destination for domestic and foreign visitors.
